A Newborn Photography Session doesn’t always have to take place indoors

There is something amazing about a lifestyle newborn session.

I don’t often get to photograph babies outside due to our crazy weather here in Charlottesville, Virginia. But every once in a while, a newborn photography session comes along that is pure magic.  I photographed this beautiful family for the big sister’s cake smash when they moved here a few years ago. I then photographed the middle girl, Lucy’s newborn, and family photos. It was a delight when they asked me to photograph baby Joanna’s outdoor newborn session.

The beauty in an outdoor newborn photography session is your family’s story comes to love.

My camera captures moments in time versus posed moments. And for toddlers, this means they are more engaged with the session. And they have ample opportunity to burn off excess energy being outdoors.

This particular session was photographed at the base of the mountains in Crozet Virginia. Nearby are some amazing landmarks and places to visit just in case you are in town for a brief time. This session was within walking distance of Old Trail’s Restoration.  We also are less than a mile from Kings Family Vineyards or Nellysford. After your photography session, there are so many amazing locations to have a drink and enjoy some amazing food.
