Seventeen years. How is that even possible?! This Seventeen years. How is that even possible?! This girl is a full circle moment for me and I love seeing the adult she has turned into. Getting to see her all grown up and capture these photos for her family was pretty special. And yes, it definitely makes me feel old! What a privilege it is to be part of someone's story in more than one way. ❤️
Family sessions are something I offer in very limi Family sessions are something I offer in very limited numbers each year, and there are a few reasons for that! First, I want to make sure I can get your galleries back to you in plenty of time to use for holiday cards and gifts. Second, anyone who has ever tried to get a toddler to cooperate for family photos knows that keeping those little ones happy is important! And then there is the weather. Fall evenings get COLD once that sun starts going down, and if you know me, you know my Raynaud’s does not exactly love chilly outdoor sessions! So this year, I’m planning to offer a couple of indoor family sessions, too! If you want to be the first to know when these sessions are released, comment below and I’ll send you the link to sign up for my newsletter. That’s where I’ll share the details before spots are gone! I’m excited to try something a little different this year!

That golden light was just perfect, and this sweet girl gave us so many adorable moments to capture. I love the mix of photos we got, from her twirling in the field to those sweet moments with Mom and Dad. And of course, we had to get a few with their pup too! October has definitely kept us on our toes this ye October has definitely kept us on our toes this year! Dreary days, rain, and more rescheduling than I think any of us planned for. But we made this one work, and I’m so glad we did! This family was so much fun to photograph, and I love how their gallery turned out. That sweet little smile and all the moments with Mom and Dad made for such a beautiful collection of memories. I’m already looking forward to seeing them again in the new year! ❤️

Can we talk about newborn feet for a minute? Becau Can we talk about newborn feet for a minute? Because HOW are they this tiny? 🥹 Those little toes, the flaky skin, the way they curl up and tuck their feet in when they're sleeping. And somehow, when you're holding your baby, you still can't quite believe someone so small is actually yours. Here's something I wonder about with second and third-time moms. Do you find yourself paying more attention to the little details with each baby because you know just how quickly they change? Or are you like most of us with your first, thinking those tiny toes will always be that tiny? Because one day, those feet will be running through your house, leaving muddy footprints on your floors, and you'll look back at a photo like this and wonder how they were ever so small. Tell me, are you a baby-feet person? Because I have a feeling there are two kinds of people in this world: the ones who can't stop kissing those tiny toes and the ones who think that's a little weird.
Everyone has an opinion about newborns Before you Everyone has an opinion about newborns Before you have a baby, everyone has advice for you. Sleep when the baby sleeps. Enjoy every minute. Don't hold them too much. Hold them as much as you want. They'll grow up before you know it. And then the baby arrives, and suddenly you're making a hundred decisions a day while trying to figure out this tiny human. Here's my opinion, after photographing newborns for years: you don't have to make every moment magical. You don't have to love every stage equally. And you don't have to feel guilty for looking forward to a little more sleep. You just have to be there, loving the little person in front of you. So I'm curious. What's the one piece of advice you received as a new mom that you actually found helpful? And what advice would you tell new moms to ignore?
