Sibling photos at a newborn session can be adorable—but they can also be unpredictable! After years of photographing little ones, I’ve learned a few tricks to make those moments smoother (and sweeter!):

1️⃣ Keep it short & sweet – Toddlers have a short attention span, so we capture their photos first!
2️⃣ Bribery works wonders – Stickers, snacks, or a fun game can keep siblings engaged and happy.
3️⃣ Lower expectations (just a little!) – Some kids will snuggle, while others prefer to hold a foot or give a quick kiss. Every moment is special!

But when it was time to snuggle her new baby sister? Pure magic! I love the entire series of these two girls together.

📸 Keeping Baby Asleep – Many babies have a strong sucking reflex that helps them stay asleep longer. That means more dreamy, curled-up poses and fewer wake-ups mid-shot.

🤍 No, It’s Not Forever – A pacifier during a photoshoot doesn’t mean a baby will use one forever. It just means they’re happy and relaxed in the moment.

So let’s be kind, yeah? Every baby, every family, every choice is different. Baby-Led Posing: Your baby is in charge! I gently guide them into natural, cozy poses, always keeping their safety and comfort first.
