One of the things I hear from parents all the time One of the things I hear from parents all the time is:

"We almost didn't do pictures this year."

Life got busy.

Someone had soccer.
Someone had school.
Someone had a baby.
Someone was working.
Someone didn't feel like they had lost enough weight yet.
Someone's hair wasn't cooperating.
Someone's toddler was in a phase where getting dressed was apparently a personal attack.

So they almost skipped it.

And then they came to their session.

And afterward, I hear some version of:

"I'm so glad we did this."

Because here's the thing.

Your kids aren't going to wait until life is less busy.

They're going to keep growing.

They're going to lose those little teeth.
Their faces are going to change.
Their personalities are going to evolve.
Their favorite stuffed animal is eventually going to disappear into a closet.
The way they reach for your hand is going to change.

And you don't need to have the perfect family, the perfect outfit, the perfect body or the perfect day to photograph that.

You just need to show up.

I think we put so much pressure on ourselves to make photographs perfect that we forget what we actually want to remember.

I want you in the photographs too.

Not just the beautifully dressed children.

YOU.

Because someday your children are going to look through these photographs and they aren't going to notice whether your hair was perfect.

They're going to look for you.

And that's exactly why I keep doing this.

There is something about fall family photos that I There is something about fall family photos that I will never get tired of.

Maybe it is the colors. Maybe it is the cooler evenings. Maybe it is watching families come back year after year and seeing just how much their kids have changed since the last time I photographed them.

And honestly, I think that is my favorite part.

Because when you are living it, a year doesn't feel like that long.

Your toddler still feels like your baby. Your kids still feel like the same kids who were running around your house last fall. You don't necessarily notice all of the little changes happening right in front of you.

But then you see a photograph.

And suddenly you realize how much has changed.

Those little hands are bigger.
That baby face is starting to disappear.
Your daughter is suddenly losing her baby teeth.
Your son isn't quite as little as you remember.

That is why I love family photography so much.

It isn't really about getting everyone dressed and standing in front of a pretty background.

It is about stopping time for just a minute.

I have just TWO fall family mini session spots remaining for the year.

That's it.

My family calendar is otherwise completely SOLD OUT through the end of 2026, and I am not currently booking additional family sessions into 2027.

So if you've been thinking about doing fall photos this year, these two spots are your opportunity.

Once they're gone, they're gone.

And I have a feeling I'll be looking at these little families years from now thinking the exact same thing I always do:

How did they get so big so fast?

If you want one of the last two fall spots, send me a message or book through my website.
You know what happens every fall? The kids get a You know what happens every fall?

The kids get a little taller.

Their faces change.

The clothes they wore last year don't fit anymore.

And somehow another year has passed.

That’s why I love fall family sessions so much. It isn't really about getting everyone dressed up and smiling for a photo.

It’s about having a record of who your family was right now.

This year's version of them.

Fall 2026 sessions are officially underway, and I have limited availability remaining.

If you've been putting off family photos, don't wait until the leaves are gone.

Let's make some memories while they're still this little.
Fall sessions are officially happening, and I have Fall sessions are officially happening, and I have just a few openings left.

If you’ve been telling yourself you’ll get family photos done this fall, this is your reminder that fall has a way of disappearing very quickly.

One minute we’re waiting for the leaves to change and the next we’re talking about Thanksgiving and Christmas.

I still have a limited number of fall session dates available, but my calendar is getting tight.

If you want the fall colors, the pretty evening light and photos you can actually have printed before the holidays, now is the time to book.

Send me a message here or use my contact form on my website for more information
It’s officially fall session season around here. It’s officially fall session season around here.

Which means the pretty light, changing leaves, cozy sweaters and all the little moments that make family photos feel like fall are coming back.

My fall calendar is already filling FAST, and I have limited availability remaining for this season.

If you’ve been thinking about updating your family photos, now is the time to get on the calendar. Once those remaining dates are gone, that’s it for fall 2026.

I’d love to see your family this year. Message me for link to book!!
Can we bring this back? Because shirtless dads us Can we bring this back?

Because shirtless dads used to be a THING in my newborn studio.

I’m talking tattooed arms, sleepy newborns, and that very specific kind of newborn photo that somehow makes dad look like he just wandered onto the set of a Calvin Klein ad.

This image is from 2017, and I actually used to have “shirtless dad” as an option on my session questionnaire because SO many dads wanted one.

And honestly?

I kind of miss it.

There’s something about a tiny newborn curled up against dad’s chest that just works. It’s simple, masculine, intimate, and completely different from the traditional family portrait.

So I’m officially asking:

Are we bringing back the shirtless dads?

Because I’m ready.

If you’re expecting a baby and your husband is thinking, “Absolutely not,” just show him this photo.

He may reconsider.
What Happens When We Finish I always notice the c What Happens When We Finish

I always notice the change at the end of a newborn session.

At the beginning, parents are usually watching everything.

Is the baby okay?

Is the baby hungry?

Is the baby comfortable?

Are we getting enough pictures?

Then somewhere along the way, they relax.

They stop watching the clock.

They stop worrying about whether the baby is going to sleep.

They start looking at the photographs.

And by the end, everybody is just tired.

Baby is tired.

Parents are tired.

I'm tired.

And somehow we have a gallery full of photographs that didn't exist a few hours earlier.

That's a pretty good way to spend a morning.
