family photography session

I really loved working with Bre for her family photography session, with an additional cake smash session added in. I have spent a few months, (thanks Covid), organizing my thoughts and imagining where I wanted my business to be next year at this time. Some of those things I wanted to take a bigger role in, included helping clients more with the wardrobe. The choosing of wardrobe to compliment the locations better. I also wanted to create a storybook session versus a “look at me and smile session”. I found the perfect Charlottesville location for our photography session.

One of the reasons I have pulled away from family photos the last 7-8 years was the pressure of family posed sessions and the often forced smiles and expectations. What I have learned over the years is that babies and toddlers can NOT be expected to sit, smile, and look. And forget doing it on cue when everyone else is. With my storybook sessions, my goal is to capture the moments and memories, versus the forced look that often appears in a photography session.

I hope from looking at these images you see my ultimate goal come to fruition.
