From room temperature to hand placement to reading From room temperature to hand placement to reading baby’s cues, every detail in my studio is designed with safety first. That means: • Warm, calm environment • Slow transitions between poses • Constant head & neck support • Breaks whenever baby needs them The goal is never to “get the shot.” The goal is a comfortable baby — beautiful images follow naturally. If you’re researching newborn photographers, safety should always be part of the conversation. Newborns don’t need to be placed into positions—th Newborns don’t need to be placed into positions—they need to be supported into them. During every session: • Baby’s airway is my top priority • Head and neck are supported at all times • Poses are adapted to the baby (not the other way around) • Some poses are skipped entirely if baby says “no” Beautiful images should never come at the expense of safety—and they don’t have to. If you’re choosing a newborn photographer, ask about safety training, spotters, and experience. A safe newborn photo doesn’t happen by accident. A safe newborn photo doesn’t happen by accident. It’s: ✔️ Hands-on support ✔️ Slow, intentional posing ✔️ Constant monitoring of baby’s breathing, color, and comfort ✔️ Knowing when not to push for a pose Some images you see online are actually composites—multiple photos blended together so baby is supported the entire time. Others should never be attempted at all. As a former NICU nurse and newborn photographer, safety is always the priority—every baby, every session. If you’re expecting, I encourage you to ask any photographer: 👉 How do you keep baby supported? 👉 What training do you have in newborn safety? 👉 What poses do you avoid?
