Welcoming Baby Yahya | Sibling Newborn Photography in Charlottesville VA

There’s something uniquely beautiful about watching a big sibling meet their baby brother for the first time. This session in my Crozet studio was all about connection, joy, and quiet moments of love—especially between Baby Yahya and his proud big brother. As a Charlottesville newborn photographer, I’m always honored to document this season of life for families, especially when it includes siblings!

A Cozy Crozet Studio Experience for the Whole Family

My Crozet photography studio was designed with new families in mind. It’s a warm, welcoming space with soft lighting, cozy textures, and plenty of room to snuggle your new arrival. For this session, we kept everything neutral and timeless to ensure the focus stayed right where it belonged—on baby Yahya and the incredible bond forming with his big brother.

Including Siblings in Newborn Sessions

One of the most common questions I get is: “Can I bring my toddler to a newborn session?” Absolutely! As a former NICU nurse, I have tons of experience working with young children. I know how to gently guide, safely pose, and (most importantly) keep things fun for your little one. Here is a recent blog post if you want to read more about my tips and tricks From Squirmy to Sweet: Tips for Including Siblings in Newborn Portraits

Big brother was sweet, curious, and completely smitten with his new baby. With the right encouragement—and a few silly tricks!—we captured the sweetest sibling portraits full of real emotion.

Natural, Modest Family Portraits

One of the things I loved about this session was the mother’s elegant modest style. Whether you wear a hijab or simply prefer a more covered look, I ensure every family feels comfortable, respected, and beautifully captured. This family’s wardrobe choice photographed beautifully and brought a touch of cultural grace to their session.

Classic + Timeless Newborn Poses

After family and sibling photos, we moved into more posed portraits of baby Yahya alone. He was a dream to photograph—sleepy, snuggled, and content. We used gentle posing techniques to showcase his tiny features and preserve the fleeting newness of this stage.
