A safe newborn photo doesn’t happen by accident. A safe newborn photo doesn’t happen by accident.

It’s:
✔️ Hands-on support
✔️ Slow, intentional posing
✔️ Constant monitoring of baby’s breathing, color, and comfort
✔️ Knowing when not to push for a pose

Some images you see online are actually composites—multiple photos blended together so baby is supported the entire time. Others should never be attempted at all.

As a former NICU nurse and newborn photographer, safety is always the priority—every baby, every session.

If you’re expecting, I encourage you to ask any photographer:
👉 How do you keep baby supported?
👉 What training do you have in newborn safety?
👉 What poses do you avoid?

I have a full breakdown on my website about newborn safety and what parents should look for when choosing a photographer.

Every newborn session you see here is created with Every newborn session you see here is created with intention — and safety always comes first.

You’ll often notice parents’ hands in my images, gentle support, or subtle positioning. That’s not by accident. Newborns don’t pose themselves, and their comfort, airway, and security matter far more than any shot.

As a former NICU nurse and newborn photographer, I believe parents should know what safe newborn photography actually looks like — and what questions to ask when choosing a photographer for their baby.

I just shared a new blog post breaking this down, including what to look for, red flags to avoid, and why experience truly matters during those early days.
