There are some things you don't realize you'll wan There are some things you don't realize you'll want a photograph of until years later. Like this. Your hand wrapped around your baby's tiny hand. Your wedding ring still on your finger. The hand that has held your partner's hand, wiped tears, changed diapers, carried a car seat, rubbed a sleepy back and probably done approximately 47 things at the same time. And now it's holding the tiniest hand you've ever held. I think that's one of my favorite things about newborn photography. Yes, we photograph their little noses and their eyelashes and their toes. But I also want to remember you. The new mom who may be exhausted. The mom who is still figuring everything out. The mom who can't believe this tiny person is actually hers. The mom who doesn't feel like herself yet, but is already everything to someone else. Because someday those tiny fingers won't fit inside yours anymore. And someday you may look back at this photograph and realize just how much changed in that season of your life. If you could freeze one thing about this stage of motherhood forever, what would it be? The tiny hands? The snuggles? The way they sleep on your chest? The way they reach for you? I want to know. ❤️
One day, you’re going to miss this. Not necessari One day, you’re going to miss this. Not necessarily the sleepless nights or the endless laundry or having someone constantly attached to your hip. But this. The little hand reaching for yours. The way your baby grabs onto you without even thinking about it. The way they fit against your chest. The little things they do every single day that you don't realize are becoming memories while you're living them. And I think that's one of the hardest things about motherhood. We're so busy getting through the day that we don't always recognize the moments we're going to wish we could go back to. This is why I love photographing details like this. Not every meaningful photograph needs to show everyone's face. Sometimes it's a tiny hand wrapped around Mom's arm. Sometimes it's the way Dad holds a baby's head. Sometimes it's the little feet that won't stay still. Those photographs tell a story too. And years from now, when your baby isn't a baby anymore, you may not remember exactly what you were doing that afternoon. But you'll remember how small that hand felt in yours. What is one little thing your child does right now that you know you'll miss someday? Tell me. I want to hear them.

These are the moments I want you to remember. The These are the moments I want you to remember. The way they laugh together. The little ones who can't sit still. The way your kids still reach for your hand. The personalities that change so quickly from one year to the next. Family photos don't have to be perfectly posed or perfectly behaved. In fact, some of my favorite images happen in between the poses. Just your family, exactly as you are right now.

I'm thinking something simple and beautiful in the studio, with a holiday-inspired setup that feels classic and timeless rather than overly themed. Perfect for updated family photos, Christmas cards, grandparents, gifts, or just because you want beautiful photographs of your kids during this season of their lives. I know many of you have asked about family photos, and I'm already completely booked for regular family sessions for the remainder of 2026. So I'm considering opening a very small number of studio mini sessions in November. Before I plan anything, I want to hear from you. Would you be interested? And if so, would you prefer: A. Early November B. Mid November C. Late November Tell me in the comments. I really want to see if there is enough interest before I decide whether to offer them.

One of the things I hear from parents all the time One of the things I hear from parents all the time is: "We almost didn't do pictures this year." Life got busy. Someone had soccer. Someone had school. Someone had a baby. Someone was working. Someone didn't feel like they had lost enough weight yet. Someone's hair wasn't cooperating. Someone's toddler was in a phase where getting dressed was apparently a personal attack. So they almost skipped it. And then they came to their session. And afterward, I hear some version of: "I'm so glad we did this." Because here's the thing. Your kids aren't going to wait until life is less busy. They're going to keep growing. They're going to lose those little teeth. Their faces are going to change. Their personalities are going to evolve. Their favorite stuffed animal is eventually going to disappear into a closet. The way they reach for your hand is going to change. And you don't need to have the perfect family, the perfect outfit, the perfect body or the perfect day to photograph that. You just need to show up. I think we put so much pressure on ourselves to make photographs perfect that we forget what we actually want to remember. I want you in the photographs too. Not just the beautifully dressed children. YOU. Because someday your children are going to look through these photographs and they aren't going to notice whether your hair was perfect. They're going to look for you. And that's exactly why I keep doing this.
