5 Reasons Moms Are Amazing (especially just days a 5 Reasons Moms Are Amazing (especially just days after Mother’s Day!)

Here’s to the magic of motherhood, captured forever.

Motherhood looks like this. Soft. Strong. Sacred. Motherhood looks like this.
Soft. Strong. Sacred.

Just two days ago, we celebrated Mother’s Day — but honestly, every day deserves to honor moments like this. The quiet strength, the tenderness, the deep, all-consuming love.

This beautiful mama radiated calm during her newborn session, and her baby? Slept like a dream the entire time.

These are the kinds of images I love to create — the ones that freeze time for just a moment. Because they’re only this tiny once, but the love? That stays forever.

Thinking about a newborn session? I’d be honored to help you hold on to this season just a little longer.

Behind the Scenes: How I Handle Sibling Poses One Behind the Scenes: How I Handle Sibling Poses

One of the sweetest parts of a newborn session? Capturing that first sibling photo. One of the hardest parts? Capturing that first sibling photo.

Here’s the truth: toddlers are unpredictable. Some are thrilled to snuggle their new baby. Others are... less enthusiastic. That’s normal — and I’m ready for it.

What you don’t see in the final photo:

I often shoot sibling poses first, while your toddler is still fresh, right after the family poses.

We play games, use toys, and sometimes bribery (no shame!).

I’ve got tricks for coaxing smiles and for safely compositing images if we need to.

Sometimes a sibling just needs to sit near baby — no pressure to pose “perfectly.”

My goal is always safety, patience, and connection — not Pinterest perfection.

So if your toddler runs wild or refuses to sit? Don’t worry. I’ve got this. And I’ll still get you the photo that melts your heart.

Tag a mama who’s worried her toddler won’t cooperate — I promise, it’s going to be okay.
📸 WHAT IF MY BABY DOESN’T SLEEP DURING THEIR 📸 WHAT IF MY BABY DOESN’T SLEEP DURING THEIR SESSION?

This is one of the most common questions I get from new parents — and I totally get it! You just had a baby, you’re running on fumes, and now there’s a photoshoot on the calendar. What if your baby doesn’t sleep? What if they’re fussy?

Here’s the truth: It happens! But the magic still unfolds.

As a former NICU nurse (yes, really!) and a newborn photographer with years of experience, I’ve seen it all — wide-eyed wigglers, snack breaks every 10 minutes, and babies who just want snuggles instead of snoozes. And that’s okay.

I build in extra time during every session for feeding, soothing, and settling. There’s no rush and no pressure. I follow baby’s lead and use gentle techniques, warm wraps, white noise, and a cozy studio to help them relax.

Sometimes the wide-awake shots end up being your absolute favorites — tiny expressions, big eyes, and all the personality.

So breathe. You’re not doing anything wrong. Your baby is perfect — awake or asleep.

📸 NEWBORN FAQ: “When is the best time to sche 📸 NEWBORN FAQ: “When is the best time to schedule my newborn session?”

I get this question all the time, and it’s such an important one!

💡 The best time to photograph your newborn is between 5–21 days after birth.
That’s when babies are sleepiest and most curly, which helps us safely and beautifully pose them for those dreamy, snuggly images you see in my portfolio.

✅ But don’t wait until baby arrives to get on my calendar!
I recommend booking during your second or early third trimester to secure your spot. I only take a limited number of newborns per month to allow flexibility in scheduling once baby arrives.

✨ Bonus: Booking early also gives us time to chat about styling, colors, and plan for any sibling or family shots you may want included!

Got more questions? I’m always happy to answer them. Leave one in the comments or shoot me a message—I'd love to chat! 💛
