A Special Session I Had No Idea Would Be Featured on TLC
Two years ago, I received an inquiry from a couple, Kara Bass & Guillermo Rojer living in Charlottesville looking for a maternity photographer. They wanted a special pregnancy announcement session, and I was thrilled to help design a unique and meaningful shoot. What I didn’t realize at the time was that the photos would later be featured in TLC, People Magazine, and Yahoo!
Kara Bass and Guillermo Rojer, known from 90 Day Fiancé, were expecting their baby boy and wanted to capture this milestone in a way that truly reflected their personality.
Designing a Fun & Personalized Pregnancy Announcement
Kara frequently reached out before the session, asking for outfit advice, which I was happy to provide. When the day arrived, we held the session in my Charlottesville studio, creating a cozy and intimate setting perfect for their pregnancy announcement.
The session included:
- Soft, studio lighting for a warm and timeless feel
- A mix of candid and posed shots to highlight their personalities
- Their dog front and center, adding an extra layer of cuteness
- A few surprise elements they had in mind for the big reveal

After the session, I delivered their images as usual, not thinking much about where they might end up. A few months later, I was surprised to see my work featured on TLC, as well as in People Magazine and Yahoo when Kara and Guillermo announced their pregnancy to the world! It was such a fun surprise and an honor to be part of this special moment.
