Newborn Jett’s Mini Session

Short & Sweet mini session with Newborn Jett.

I loved meeting baby Jett and his mama, Ashley. She’s local to me here in Crozet and owns Santosha Yogaa wonderful space for mindfulness and movement! Jett was what I’d call an “older newborn” at four weeks, which meant he came in with the most adorable baby rolls, a little bit of newborn acne, and that slightly more alert (and easy to startle!) stage. But that’s one of the reasons I love newborn mini sessions—keeping babies swaddled the entire time helps them feel secure and cozy, making it easier to capture those sweet, sleepy expressions.

Even at four weeks, Jett did amazingly well! He stayed content while we worked through different wrapped poses, and we even got some beautiful eye contact in between those dreamy moments. And when a baby is this settled, I can sometimes sneak in a bucket shot—one of my favorite poses for a classic newborn portrait!

Newborns change so quickly in those first few weeks, and I love being able to capture these fleeting moments for families, whether it’s a full session or a simple, sweet mini like this one.
