I am not known for a “lifestyle” photography but when this sweet baby showed up wearing this sweet outfit I couldn’t resist some casual baby-led shots. We then proceeded to her family portraits with daddy, mommy, and big brother.   I hope they treasure these images for the precious memories they are.

I often wish photography had been a thing when my children were little. My oldest, who is now off to college,  had her photos done at Sears when she was around 6 weeks old. I still remember how they had me “hide” behind the table and prop her up like a seal on a rock, while they took her photo. What then followed were yearly photos at someplace in the mall, usually around the holiday time.

When my son was born, I believe that photography was just starting to bloom, I myself was one year out from making it a business and so his photos were worse than the Sears ones we had done of my oldest. I won’t go into detail, other than to say they are nowhere on display in our home but are tucked into his baby books where they will continue to be lovingly stored until he wants them for himself.
